HYMN HISTORY:
Haldor Lillenas, founder of a noted music-publishing company, made his way to the United States from Scandinavia
His first years in this country were hard, but a kind lady befriended him and taught him the English language.
More importantly, perhaps, she told him the story of Christ and led him to trust the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him
into his life. Many times, she sang to him a comforting song entitled God Leads His Dear Children Along.
Years later, he began thinking about the song that had been so meaningful to him in his youth and decided to find out
something about its writer, C. A. Young. He discovered that the songwriter had passed away, but that his widow was
living in a nearby town.
Haldor drove out to the little town and found her in a poor house. His excitement mounted as she told him this story:

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

The word blood in the Bible is found 378 times, 285 times in the Old Testament and 93 times in the New Testament
but in many Churches today the use of this Hymn is not sung because it tells of the Blood Atonement. Hymnals
have been removed from the pews and many cases the pews are eliminated entirely to create an atmosphere that
is "Seeker-Friendly" to the un-churched. To try and combat this we have been working on a new Bible Study Series
"The Five Fundamentals of the Faith" to give believers a Biblical Study to help them defend the Five Fundamentals
that are at the very core of our position in Christ. Without a belief in these Five Fundamentals: The Blood
Atonement, The Virgin Birth, The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, The Bodily Resurrection and The Inerrancy of the
Scriptures their is no possibility to become a Christian. Many Churches have eliminated or do not speak of them
because they are an offense to those who don't profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The forces of Satan
have been attacking the "The Five Fundamentals of the Faith" from the beginning of man-kind. But now in
Churches the same thing is occurring. There are many scriptures regarding the turning away from the
Fundamentals of the Faith.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might
well bear with him. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ
hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect
by the flesh? Galatians 3:1-3
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we,
or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him
be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye

The Blood Atonement simply means at-one-ment, i.e., the state of being at one or being reconciled, so the word
atonement means reconciliation.
The Blood Atonement is not the cause but the consequence of God's love to sinful men.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be
a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through
the forbearance of God; Romans 3:24-25

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
